RAISA

He’s looking at me funny. He’s been looking at me funny all day long. After our morning and his announcement of his imminent departure, he’s been different—edgy. I don’t understand what’s wrong with him, but I’ve decided to keep as much distance as possible.

After we eat breakfast on the balcony, I choose to make my way back into the bedroom. It’s where I’m most comfortable, where I find my solace. I shower and straighten up the room for the day, then walk over to the end of the bed and sink down to the carpet.

Bowing my head, I place my palms on my bare thighs and I stare at a spot a few inches in front of my knees. Slowly, my eyes close and I breathe. In and out. I let the oxygen fill my lungs completely before I release it. Over and over I repeat the motion. I don’t know how long I stay like this, hours probably. Long enough for Sergei to come looking for me.

“Are you under stress? Feeling pressured?” he asks.

My entire body jumps in surprise. I was so lost in my breathing, so zoned out that I didn’t even realize he’d walked into the room. Lifting my gaze, I look up at him. He looks concerned but when I search deeper inside of him I grin. He’s not as concerned as he is turned on.

I like that I can do this for him, that I can turn him on. That I can be what he needs, what he desires. It makes me feel, important. Even strong.

“I am okay. I just needed to breathe.” I shrug, my lips tipping in a small coy smile. I’m not sure if the move works, as his brow lifts and he shakes his head a few times as if he cannot believe me.

“I miss the cage you had beneath the bed,” he mutters as he closes the distance between us. I stare at his shiny shoes, watching them move, mesmerized by how perfect they are. “You were so sweet all balled up on that little pillow, waiting for your master.” He sighs once he’s directly in front of me.

Tilting my head back, I look up at him. He’s smiling down at me, looking like… as if… he looks at me with what I can only describe as adoration. My chest fills with pride, it aches it’s so full, and I’ve never felt this way before, not ever in my life.

“You will be okay, Raisa,” he repeats. I nod. Still unbelieving of his words. “Come to bed,” he mutters.

I crawl behind him, not wishing to walk, my legs feeling too shaky at the moment. He helps me into bed and I think he’s going to try to fuck me, to have a session but he doesn’t. I watch as he takes a small chain and loops it through the eye anchor at the headboard of the bed, then hooks each end to each one of my wrists. He repeats the motion with my ankles.
